Laevolac Oral Liquid 500ml is a laxative solution containing lactulose, an osmotic agent that draws water into the bowel to soften stools and promote regular bowel movements. It is commonly used to treat chronic constipation and to manage hepatic encephalopathy, a liver-related condition.
Key Features:
- Active Ingredient: Each 5ml dose contains 3.34g of lactulose solution BP.

Dosage for Habitual Constipation:
- Initially: 15-45 ml as a single dose.
- Maintenance: Up to 45ml in divided doses.

Dosage for Portal Systemic Encephalopathy, Hepatic Coma & Pre-Coma:
- Initially: 30-50 ml three times daily.
- Subsequently adjusting dose to produce two or three loose stools per day.
- Warnings: Keep out of reach of children.
Laevolac is effective for chronic constipation and encourages normal bowel movement.
